If it says Windows 10, you do not need to decide what to do alone. We can help you check the next step.

Why plan the move?

Windows 10 still works. Standard support has ended.

Microsoft ended standard Windows 10 support on 14 October 2025. Your computer does not stop working, but continuing to use an older operating system deserves a plan, especially when you rely on it for work, banking or important documents.

Some eligible PCs can receive temporary Extended Security Updates. That is a bridge while you decide what to do next, rather than a return to normal support. We can explain your options without pushing an unsuitable upgrade.

A clear route forward

Check. Plan. Move.

You will know what we have found and what we recommend before any upgrade or replacement work begins.

01

Check the device

We assess Windows 11 compatibility, the condition of your PC, available storage and the software you rely on.

02

Choose the route

We explain whether upgrading this PC or moving to a new one makes more sense for your needs and budget.

03

Make the move

Once you approve the plan, we carry out the agreed work and check that the essentials are working.

Compatibility

Can this PC move to Windows 11?

We look beyond an upgrade prompt. Microsoft’s minimum requirements matter, but the PC also needs to be worth keeping and suitable for the way you use it.

01

Processor

We check that the CPU is on Microsoft’s supported list.

02

Memory & storage

We review capacity and free space, not just the minimum figures.

03

TPM 2.0

We confirm that the required security hardware is available.

04

Secure Boot

We check firmware capability and the relevant settings.

05

Apps & devices

We review key software, printers and other equipment.

If your PC does not meet Windows 11’s requirements, we will discuss a supported replacement path rather than force an unsupported installation.

Your options

Upgrade or replace?

There is no single answer for every computer. We look at compatibility, condition, expected lifespan and the cost of the work before recommending a route.

Upgrade this PC

For a compatible device in good condition, an upgrade may be the most straightforward option.

  • Check Windows 11 eligibility
  • Review essential apps and peripherals
  • Agree the preparation and backup plan
  • Upgrade and check the result

Choose a replacement

For an unsuitable or ageing PC, we can help you select and set up a device that fits the way you work.

  • Choose appropriate hardware
  • Plan the move of files and accounts
  • Set up required software and devices
  • Check that you are ready to use it

Your data and software

What happens to my files and apps?

Photos, documents, email, specialist software and printer settings can matter more than the operating system itself. We identify what you need to keep before changes are made.

We confirm the backup position and agree any additional backup or migration work with you. We also flag apps or devices that may need updates, replacement or a different plan.

For ongoing recovery protection, you can also ask us about Cloud Backup as a separate service.

1

Confirm backups

We establish what is already protected and what should be backed up before work starts.

2

Check what you use

We review your important apps, accounts, printers and other devices for compatibility.

3

Move and verify

We carry out the agreed upgrade or replacement work, then check the essentials with you.

Frequently asked questions

Windows 11 upgrade questions, answered

Straight answers to the things people ask before changing their computer.

Can my current PC run Windows 11?

That depends on its processor, security hardware, memory, storage and firmware. We check the requirements and the overall condition of the PC before recommending an upgrade.

Will I lose my files or apps?

We agree what needs protecting and confirm the backup plan before making changes. Some older programs or devices may not work with Windows 11, so we check the essentials and explain any limitations.

What if my PC is not compatible?

We can help you choose a suitable replacement and plan the move of files, accounts and software. We will not present an unsupported Windows 11 installation as a normal upgrade.

How long does an upgrade take?

It depends on the PC, the condition of its storage, updates, software and the amount of data to move. After assessment, we can give you a more useful timescale and plan around important work.

Can I keep using Windows 10 for now?

Windows 10 still runs, but standard support ended on 14 October 2025. Eligible devices enrolled in Extended Security Updates may receive temporary security updates. We can help you plan a supported next step.

How much will it cost?

Costs depend on your PC and the agreed work, such as upgrade preparation, software, backup or moving to a replacement. We explain the proposed work and cost before you authorise it.

Can I upgrade Windows myself?

Some eligible PCs offer the upgrade through Windows Update. Our service is for people who want help checking suitability, preparing their files and apps, and handling the change carefully.

Will my printer and accessories still work?

Many do, but compatibility depends on the model and available drivers. Tell us which devices are important and we will include them in the plan.
